Make Our Chapter Great in 2008!

The Austin Business Travel Association has two goals this year:

1. Minimum $10 donation from every member
2. Win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Click here to see how we are doing!

Each Chapter achieving both of these goals during the Convention-to-Convention cycle (August 1, 2007 through July 10, 2008) will be recognized as an “NBTAPAC Partner Chapter” at the 2008 NBTA Convention in Los Angeles. Additionally, the Chapters that raise the most in their divisions will be crowned “Chapter Challenge Champions!”

  • NBTAPAC is NBTA’s political action committee. It enables NBTA’s advocacy team to raise money to support political candidates for federal office who know and understand – and support – the issues of business travelers
  • Help us to ensure that congressional seats are held by individuals who understand business travelers’ issues and challenges and can have a positive impact on your livelihood. Get involved! Access the contribution form here
  • Thank you in advance for your donations

  • For more information contact Shane Downey at sdowney@nbta.org or (703) 236-1131. To learn more about NBTAPAC online, visit www.nbta.org/Government/NBTAPAC.

Some ABTA members captured at the "pre-event" reception for Texas Education Day, held in Houston on 14 April. The theme for the day-long event was "The Future is Green". Featured speakers included experts from a variety of backgrounds who shared their successes and/or strategies with attendees.

    Community Outreach Contributions

ABTA’s 2007 annual Golf Tournament was our most successful ever.  Thanks to our outstanding sponsors, silent auction contributors and players we raised $24,000 and beat our targeted goal!!  We proudly contributed $12,000 to our chosen Community Outreach organizations Angelheart and First Tee.

    Hollywood Legends

ABTA's Night with the Hollywood Legends student scholarship fund raiser was enjoyed by a number of "celebrities" as well as some of our members and guests. Thanks to our generous sponsors, attendee's and our raffle ticket purchasers we raised funds to begin the funding for this years scholarship awards which will be presented in late April. Holiday Event

The mid-December holiday program was an event to be remembered. Nicole Benson was inspired to create a poetic tribute to the evening.   A collection of photos is also available.
